How do I install Klippit?
Download the .zip from the pricing page. Unzip it and drag Klippit.app into your /Applications folder. Launch from there. Klippit lives in your menu bar — there's no Dock icon unless you have the library open.
macOS says Klippit "cannot be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software".
This shouldn't happen — Klippit is notarised by Apple. If you do see this message, please email support and we'll investigate. In the meantime, right-click Klippit.app → Open → Open in the dialog that appears.
How do I activate after purchase?
Click the "Activate Klippit" button in your Paddle receipt email — it opens Klippit and activates automatically. If you copy/paste the link, paste it into your browser's address bar. If you have the licence key but not the link, go to Klippit menu → Enter Licence and paste the key.
Where are my recordings saved?
In ~/Movies/Klippit/Recordings/, organised by year and month. You can open the Klippit library to browse them, or use Finder.
Can I use Klippit on more than 2 Macs?
The standard licence covers 2 Macs you personally own. If you need additional seats — e.g. multiple Macs in a household, or a team licence — email support and we'll work something out.
How do I cancel / refund?
Within 14 days of purchase: email [email protected] and we'll refund via Paddle, usually within 5 working days. Outside the 14-day window, contact us and we'll do our best.
How do I uninstall?
Quit Klippit, drag Klippit.app to the Trash. Your recordings stay in ~/Movies/Klippit/ until you delete them. To remove your licence and preferences as well, also delete ~/Library/Preferences/com.klippit.app.plist and the Keychain entry under "com.klippit.app.license".
What macOS versions are supported?
macOS 14 (Sonoma), 15 (Sequoia), and 26 (Tahoe). Klippit ships as an Apple Silicon native binary — Intel Macs are not currently supported.
Does Klippit work offline?
Yes. The app records, edits, and saves entirely offline. Internet access is only needed to check for updates and to validate your licence key on first activation.
